Victims of a brutal fire, high schoolers urge Make Polluters Pay

In January 2025, wildfires devastated the Los Angeles basin, destroying roughly 18,000 homes and structures, killing dozens to hundreds, forcing more than 200,000 people to evacuate, and burning over 57,000 acres. Pacific Palisades was effectively wiped out.

Now, just over a year later, Climate Talks for Everyone brings together students from Palisades High School and community members at the site where their school once stood. Students will share their experiences and reflections in a moderated conversation with the FFF Newsletter.

The event will be broadcast nationwide via Zoom and livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube. Groups—especially high school students—are encouraged to host watch gatherings and discuss the lessons and actions ahead.
