Make your signs, practice your chants, and get your voice ready to be heard. The next Global Climate Strike is coming! We need to go on the streets and protest because banks and investors are still further fueling the climate crisis by investing in fossil fuels. Governments are letting it happen even though we know there can be no new fossil fuels if we limit global temperature rise below 1.5°C.
#TomorrowIsTooLate with Narrative: End fossil finance
In the next few weeks, ensure your community knows the next GCS is coming on the 3rd of March! - Organize your friends, family, neighbors, classmates, teachers, and even your city’s leaders. - Alert people participating in or passing by your strikes. - Put up posters / distribute flyers. - Get permission from your town to hold a demonstration or walk through town. - Announce your strike on the FFF map by registering here - Take pictures and send your story of why your strike was successful to the FFF Calendar (email@fridaysforfuture.org). As part of the narrative, we need to focus on policymakers' negligence in allowing the funding of fossil fuel projects incompatible with the Paris Agreement. We also need to highlight the destructive impact of new fossil fuel projects on frontline communities. This narrative is important because funding fossil fuel projects affects almost every country in some way. Either providing funding for new projects or an actual project built there already, or it ensures our experiencing the effects of the climate crisis. Instead, we need massive funding for renewables worldwide to enable a just energy transition for the benefit of all.
